Pharmacy Quality Scheme (PQS)

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has introduced a new Pharmacy Quality Scheme as part of the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF) in 2019/20. This involves payments being made to community pharmacy contractors meeting certain gateway and quality criteria

CPSC strongly encourages contractors to read all of the NHS England guidance documents to ensure they are fully briefed on the Pharmacy Quality Scheme (PQS).

* NSAID audit now available (07/11/2019)

To achieve the PQS bundle payment you must complete the following:

  • Diabetes (4 months)
  • Valproate (3 months)
  • NSAID (1 month)
  • Lithium* (3 months) - *Only complete one of either Methotrexate, Amiodarone OR Phenolbarbital audits if you have no lithium patients
