URGENT ACTION REQUIRED: Correction required to your Dementia Friendly Pharmacy PharmOutcomes entry

Action required to ensure remuneration of £500 payment is not forfeited

For attention of all pharmacies completing the Dementia Friendly Pharmacy Framework

It has come to our attention that there was a glitch in the PharmOutcomes platform set up by NHS England regarding the non- essential questions; so that even though a pharmacy was complaint overall on the 40 essential questions answered:

• the framework rated the pharmacy as 'not graded' if the non-essential questions were left unanswered as instructed to do so, or
• the framework rated the pharmacy as 'not compliant' if the non-essential questions were answered as non-compliant

Most pharmacies are therefore failing to show as 'compliant' when in fact they have successfully completed the framework. A simple fix has thankfully been created today with the help of the PharmOutcomes team. The actions required are shown below and can be completed in just a couple of minutes. Please follow the actions below:

Actions required: (Before 31st March!)

1. Sign back into your PharmOutcomes and select update your Dementia Friendly Pharmacy Framework.
2. Re-answer the non-essential questions - you will notice that they have changed wording from the previous 'yes / no' to become 'criteria met / criteria noted'. You will also see that on answering the questions, the boxes will remain grey, as the marking of these boxes no longer affects the overall score.
3. Once you have completed all non-essential questions, and checked that all 40 essential questions are 'compliant' then press save and resubmit.
   
4. You will see that your store will go green and show compliant. Congratulations you will now be entitled to the full £500 remuneration (subject to possible NHSE validation inspection visits)

Performance to date:

NHS England were hoping that 400 pharmacies would successfully complete the Dementia Friendly Framework across the Wessex area. Currently the position is approximately as follows:

• 24% of pharmacies have completed the framework (most just need to reassess and submit as shown above)
• 10% of pharmacies are almost complete, just needing to complete the last few questions and follow the guidance above for non-essential questions correction.
• 8% of pharmacies have started submitting evidence but have the majority still to complete. Please do try and complete this week.

This accounts for around 220 pharmacies (42%) participating across Wessex, leaving the majority remainder of around 300 pharmacies (58%) that have disappointingly not participated at all.

The deadline is midnight on 31st March 2018. All entries must be completed before this time to qualify for the £500 remuneration from NHS England - South (Wessex)
