Recent system updates impacting prescribing
A new updated SystmOne formulary version will reach practices in the next few days.
Please take extra care with repeat prescriptions coming through as the doses/length/directions of some items have changed to support medicine use updates, safety and consistency.
The update includes the following:
- Updated inhalers as per new Wessex Asthma guidelines with refined default doses to support regimen and inhaler technique.
- Updated liquid default doses for children as per Labelling-Position-Statement-V2.pdf
- Updated Antibiotic default doses, default course length and quantities to support recommendations in SCAN.

This mainly affects Portsmouth and Isle of Wight surgeries.
