Isle of Wight PNA 2018-20 Consultation Period

Written by admin on Friday 8th December 2017

Your opportunity to contribute to the Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment consultation runs from 11 December 2017 until 8 February 2018.

The Isle of Wight Health and Wellbeing Board is under a statutory obligation to draft, consult upon and publish a pharmaceutical needs assessment (PNA), which is revised every three years.

A PNA is a statement of current pharmaceutical services provided in the local area. It also assesses whether or not this provision is satisfactory for the local population and additionally identifies any perceived gaps.

Once published, the PNA will be used by NHS England to assist in responding to applications for the opening of additional pharmacies, relocation of premises and amendments to opening hours or pharmaceutical services.

We are now conducting a public consultation to seek your views on this draft PNA, and whether it addresses issues that you consider are relevant to the provision of pharmaceutical services.

The closing date for the consultation is 8 February 2018.
