Flu: Stock Ordering for 22/23 Season

Written by AlisonFreemantle on Monday 14th March 2022

The current ordering situation (where known as of Friday 9th March)

The flu reimbursement letter for 2022/23 season was published last week – the main change to this year being that the 50-64 yrs cohort are NOT included in the vaccination programme.

If you need to amend any orders already placed, please see information from manufacturers:

Sanofi

For those that have already placed orders, Sanofi will modify them for 6 weeks post publication of the letter (i.e. until 12 April 22).

  • QIVe is now out of stock and is not to be actively promoted for 2022/23
  • QIVr is currently in stock and open to new orders, or pharmacies can switch in line with NHSE Flu Guidance. Ordering will remain open until all stock is exhausted.
  • Existing Customers for QIVr will be informed directly about new discount structure and re-invoiced
  • New orders for QIVr are currently scheduled for delivery in October 2022 on a “first come first served basis”
  • Deliveries will be on the basis of one drop only unless the provider requests to split it

Seqirus

Considering national reimbursement guidance, changes to QIVc orders will be accepted until 14 April 2022 in line with the Seqirus ‘risk free’ ordering policy; Seqirus will send a communication to customers next week to inform them of the QIVc order amendment process.

Deliveries of Seqirus vaccines are scheduled to begin from w/c 12th September 2022.
