Community Pharmacy South Central and Dorset LPC are working in partnership with the NPA to provide Flu Training at local venues in Hampshire & Dorset. Read more for further details and on how to book...

We are working in partnership with the NPA to provide training and support for any pharmacist wishing to be able to deliver the NHS Advanced Flu Service that all community pharmacies are eligible to provide from September this year.

This training is open to all pharmacists regardless of NPA membership. Prices have been discounted from the NPA’s usual tariff rate for those quoting this invitation and referencing the LPC training initiative.

Whilst the details of the PGD for this Advanced Service have not yet been made available, it is anticipated that it will be very similar to last year.

In order to be eligible to deliver the service NHS England has determined that pharmacists providing the Flu Vaccination Service need to attend face-to-face training for both injection technique and basic life support training every two years, irrespective of how many vaccines are administered each year.

The package is slightly different this year, it is called ESSENTIALS which is Influenza / Hep B and Adrenaline. This year the PGDs and Training include Paediatric training. The practical training will start from birth but the PGD will cover patients from 5 years and up. There will be an element of Ampoule training as well via a video and demonstration for Adrenaline. The training covers vaccination techniques; basic life support and anaphylaxis management.

Prices are as follows: -

Flu vaccination + private PGD (practical training) £85 + VAT
