Scheme extended for a further 6 months. Read more on the small changes required to both the gateway and quality criteria, as well as review point dates required for eligibility to participate.

A Quality Payments Scheme, which forms part of the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework, was introduced from 1st December 2016 until 31st March 2018. As part of the interim arrangements for the first six months of 2018/19, it has been agreed that a further £37.5 million is to be invested into an extension of the scheme, with a June 2018 declaration.

This declaration point will operate similarly to previous declarations and will continue to reward community pharmacies that successfully meet the quality criteria.

The interim Quality Payments Scheme 2018/19 is largely like the Quality Payments Scheme 2017/18 except for a small number of minor changes. A PSNC Briefing (below) outlines the changes that have been made to the Quality Payments Scheme. Also attached is an easy to follow guide on how to add your Bank Holiday hours on the NHS website, which is one of the compulsory changes required to complete. (n.b. Entry, editing or validation of Bank Holiday hours must be made between 00:00 on 9th April 2018 and 23:59 on 29th June 2018 to meet Gateway criteria - taking no action will result in not being eligible to claim quality payments.)
