UPDATE: Isle of Wight locally commissioned services

Contracts have now been made available for providers to declare an expression of interest in. Read here for more information on the new processes required to be followed this year by the CCG and Public Health commissioners.


There are two separate distinct processes that need to be followed & completed for the two Isle of Wight commissioners of services.

See below for clarity over which service is commissioned by which commissioner.

Commissioner Services Contracting information for pharmacies

Isle of Wight CCG:

  • UTI (Nitrofurantoin or Trimethoprim)
  • Impetigo (Fusidic Acid cream)
  • Pharmacy First
  • Just in Case Palliative Care
  • Urgent Care
An Isle of Wight Community Pharmacy
Services contract will be issued that contains:
  • a localised NHS Standard contract short form
  • standard NHS service conditions
  • standard NHS general conditions
Individual service specifications are contained
within the contract as appendices.
Contractors are asked to respond promptly to
the agreement and return the signed copy accordingly.

application can be sent later to follow on
(deadline 30th July 2018)

Isle of Wight Public Health:

  • EHC (Levonorgestrel or Ulipristal)
  • Chlamydia Treatment (Azithromycin)
  • Champix Smoking Cessation (Varenicline)
  • Nicotine Replacement Therapy
  • Supervised Consumption
  • Needle exchange

As part of the governments initiative to
implement e-procurement Isle of Wight Council
(on behalf of Isle of Wight Public Health)
established a Dynamic Purchasing System
(DPS) to commission Community Pharmacy
Public Health Services.
Any pharmacy wishing to be included in
delivering services will need to apply
electronically to become an approved
