Frontline healthcare staff are being encouraged to have their flu vaccinations if they still haven't had it to help prevent them from becoming ill.
Frontline healthcare staff who have not yet received their flu vaccinations are being asked to have it now in a bid to help address the challenge that flu poses to the health system at this very busy winter time. Substantial levels of seasonal influenza have placed further strain on primary & secondary care, as hospitalisations & intensive care admissions have increased. It's important for community pharmacies to keep in-stock of flu vaccinations this year as demand continues to be strong throughout January. Some GP practices are struggling for stock and have been actively redirecting people to their local pharmacies to meet demand.
