NHS Flu vaccination success for community pharmacies in 2017/18

Performance across Southampton, Hampshire, Isle of Wight & Portsmouth out performs national average
Pharmacies across Southampton, Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Portsmouth did a fantastic job again in providing the NHS Influenza vaccination to eligible patients over the course of the last season.
As we start to prepare for another successful campaign this year, it is useful to look at the great progress we have made over the past few years; achieving large year on year increases, as our service is seen as a fast, efficient, convenient and very accessible for many patients to best protect themselves against the flu risk each winter.
Key messages:
- for patients: visit their community pharmacy or GP practice to arrange their flu vaccination every year during the September - December period. Community Pharmacies are able to advise all patients on their eligibility for a free NHS flu vaccination or alternatively a cost effective private service.
- for community pharmacies: ensure plans are fully in place and ready for the start of this years flu vaccination season from the beginning of September (just 4 weeks to go!)
