** New service planned to commence from 15th April 2019, which we encourage all eligible contractors to consider providing

I'm pleased to be able to share that community pharmacies will again be able to apply to provide a locally commissioned smoking cessation service within the Southampton City locality

All community pharmacies will receive an invitation from Southampton City Council by PharmOutcomes message on Thursday 14th March. It will share the details of the new contract highlighting key information about the recommissioned service.

CPSC have been in consultation with the Council with regard to the actual details of the contract proposal and encourage all pharmacy contractors to look positively at applying to become a provider.

As usual with new services, CPSC has provided a 'Service Checklist RAG rating' for the service proposed. We believe that for any pharmacy with a sufficiently high footfall; then the service should actually rate GREEN. However, we do acknowledge that a small number of pharmacies may feel that their footfall opportunity is insufficient to warrant training a smoking cessation advisor, hence the overall rating shows as AMBER (meaning the service may not be suitable for all pharmacies and requires individual judgement calls by each contractor).

I have included the Service Checklist RAG rating below:

ACTION REQUIRED:
Please read the series of 3 PharmOutcomes messages sent to each pharmacy from Southampton City Council. The messages contain all necessary information to apply, so please respond promptly to this as time is now urgent.
