Solent NHS Trust have launched a new information sheet on HIV for Pharmacists

The resource is free to use and can be downloaded from their website page:

The sheet contains information on the following: 

  • Why HIV testing is important, and avoiding late diagnosis
  • Benefits of HIV treatment and long-term health outcomes
  • Which populations are generally at higher risk of acquiring HIV?
  • Training for Pharmacists on HIV and Sexual Health
  • Local HIV testing options
  • Confidentiality
  • Areas of high HIV Prevalence

This resource is launched in line with National HIV Testing Week but can be used any time of the year.

Free home testing options available:

  • Anyone over 16 that lives in England can order a HIV test kit from: freetesting.hiv
  • Anyone 18+ living in Southampton, Hampshire, Isle of Wight & Portsmouth can get a HIV test as part of a full STI kit from: www.letstalkaboutit.nhs.uk/test
