Hampshire County Council are running an awareness campaign

The campaign goes live on the 12th February and ends on the 17th March to maximise its reach across Hampshire.

The campaign signposts to Hampshire Healthy Hearts Healthy Hearts :: Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICS (hantsiowhealthandcare.org.uk) and will be deployed across various media channels including: Facebook, Google, posters in target areas (bus stops, supermarkets, train stations), bus sides and a 4-week radio ad.

This is an ideal opportunity to increase awareness and offer the pharmacy service.

Key messages to promote blood pressure testing:

  • It only takes 10 minutes.
  • It could save your life.
  • You can get a free blood pressure test in your pharmacy, your GP practice, or buy a machine to test yourself at home.
  • There are usually no symptoms for high blood pressure.
  • High blood pressure can cause strokes, heart attacks, kidney disease and dementia.
  • 1 in 4 adults has high blood pressure.
  • Checking your blood pressure is simple to do.

Any questions on the campaign please contact Craig Alford (craig.alford@hants.gov.uk) or Kate Raines (kate.raines@hants.gov.uk) at Hampshire County Council.

Assets available include a poster that pharmacies can use to promote availability of the service.
