Lifestyle related factors like high blood pressure and high cholesterol, as well as smoking, poor diet and a lack of exercise, can increase a person’s risk of developing heart disease.

To increase awareness of heart health and reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke, we are encouraging adults to complete the new One You Heart Age Test and get a free blood pressure reading. The Heart Age Test will let users know how old their heart is (in comparison to their physical age) in under three minutes. It also provides them with tips on how they can lower their heart age as well as ways to reduce their risk of heart attack and stroke.

The test is on following page of the Pubic Health England website: https://www.nhs.uk/oneyou/be-healthier/check-your-...

UPDATE: 8th October 2018

The Heart Age Campaign came to an end on Friday 28 September. It is now time to submit your evaluation on PharmOutcomes. The deadline for submission of the evaluation is Friday 12 October 2018.

You will find the campaign evaluation under the Services tab on PharmOutcomes under the heading of NHS England PH Campaigns.

All pharmacies are asked to submit an evaluation after each campaign confirming that the pharmacy has participated and noting the number of people who were given advice as part of the campaign. The return is available now on PharmOutcomes.

The purpose of the return is twofold:

  1. To provide assurance that the pharmacy is complying with this element of essential services
  2. To help demonstrate the value that community pharmacy adds in terms of the health promotion role
