Health Education England (HEE) South would like to invite expressions of interest for trainee pharmacists starting summer 2022 to join elements of the training programme

Expression of interest for trainee(s) by Wednesday 8th June 2022

HEE South and PWDS are welcoming trainees from community pharmacy undertaking their training in 2022/2023 to join fellow trainees from hospital, general practice, mental health and other pharmacy settings to learning opportunities including.

  • August 2022 – Person-centred practice and collaboration. The event focuses on communication with people, professionalism and use of some clinical skills.
  • February 2023 – Professional practice. This event focuses on responding to symptoms and advanced services.
  • May 2023 – Leadership and management. This event will focus on quality of care and safe use of medicines, risk management and leadership styles.
  • July 2023 – Education and research This event will showcase audit and quality improvement projects.

The HEE programme has been mapped to and provides opportunities to work towards the new interim learning outcomes in the 2022 General Pharmaceutical Council standards for the initial education and training of pharmacists.

The purpose of the offer is to complement and be in addition to the training your trainee will get at the pharmacy location and through any external training provider(s). There is no cost to you for a trainee to participate in this HEE programme however places on the scheme are limited.

To express interest for trainee(s) to be chosen email pharmacy.south@hee.nhs.uk by Wednesday 8th June 2022 stating:

  • The number of trainees at your site(s),
  • Pharmacy location(s),
  • Tutor/designated supervisor email.

If you are successful in securing a place it is expected your trainee will be released to attend all four face to face events and participate in all elements of the programme.
