Health Education England provide additional training programmes for educational and practice supervisors

Written by AlisonFreemantle on Wednesday 2nd March 2022

These programmes are suitable for all Educational Supervisors and Practice Supervisors in any sector of pharmacy who are supporting trainees across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

The programmes have been developed to ensure that supervisors are trained, competent and confident to deliver their roles effectively, and keep up to date.  All programmes meet the new GPhC standards for supervision.

The fast-track programmes have been developed for those supervisors who have completed previous supervisor training programmes and are looking to bridge any identified gaps, or if they have completed a practice supervisor training programme and are ready for the next step in their supervisor journey. The programmes include:

  • Fast Track to Practice Supervision
  • Fast Track to Educational Supervision
  • Refresher Training for Educational Supervisors
  • Refresher Training for Practice Supervisors

Individuals wishing to undertake these training programmes should discuss their roles with their Educational Programme Director (EPD) or Line manager and complete local study leave documents as appropriate.  The learner must have assurances that they will be supported to complete the training programme(s).  Learners will also have the option to allow progress reports to be sent to their EPD, or Line manager.

Registration onto the training programmes is now open.  Further details on the new programmes and how to enrol can be found on the ProPharmace website.
