Type 2 Diabetes and Health Inequalities

CPPE have recently launched two brand new topics for online learning events that will provide CPD opportunity to support you with your upcoming revalidation.

Workshop 1: Type 2 Diabetes – supporting people better

How confident do you feel supporting people with Type 2 Diabetes to optimise their medicines and to empower them to self-manage their condition?

Did you know that, in the UK, there are over 4.9 million people living with diabetes, and 13.6 million people are now at increased risk of Type 2 Diabetes? In addition, it is estimated that 850,000 people are currently living with Type 2 Diabetes which has not yet been diagnosed.

Attendance at our new Type 2 Diabetes workshop will help improve your knowledge of Type 2 Diabetes and how you can develop person centred ways to optimise treatment.

Workshop 2: Health Inequalities - focus on vaccine hesitancy

Do you feel confident approaching challenging conversations around vaccine hesitancy?

The World Health Organization (WHO) has listed vaccine hesitancy as one of the top threats to global health in 2019. A disparity in uptake exists between the national vaccination rate and rates observed in underserved communities, and pharmacy professionals are uniquely placed as a trusted source of information to the public to address hesitancy, engaging both individuals and communities.

This online event will equip you with the knowledge and understanding required to approach challenging conversations around vaccine hesitancy in a constructive way.

Both of these events are scheduled to run on several evening dates throughout June-September, and you can book your place for either workshop using the links.

These online workshops are open to all pharmacy professionals across England and provide an excellent opportunity to share new ideas and best practice with pharmacy colleagues, and will also support you with your GPhC revalidation by providing useful learning for a planned CPD entry.
