A Message from Wessex LMCs

Working Together with Strength and Support

In light of recent communication from NHS England, as CEOs of Wessex LMCs we would like to take this opportunity to restate our position and approach.

Our LMC has always prided itself on representing our members with warm strength. We stand shoulder to shoulder with our practices, whilst engaging positively and consistently with system partners, including other parts of the healthcare system, our ICBs and NHS England.

Particularly in times of change we value the importance of professional and collaborative dialogue with colleagues to navigate the changes together. In this way we can raise appropriate challenges and by doing this mutually secure the best possible outcomes for our communities, served by practices doing their best to implement contracts.

It is important to note that Wessex LMCs does not endorse or align with recent communications issued elsewhere in the country that have allegedly advocated for actions inconsistent with contractual obligations or professional standards. While we share the frustration many feel at the pace and scale of change, our belief remains that strength lies in unity, professionalism and engagement — not in division.

We continue to advocate with a strong voice for fair workloads, realistic expectations, and genuine partnership working to ensure sustainable General Practice for our communities.

We include in our collaborative approach our desire to work with you in Community Pharmacy!

We absolutely appreciate you are facing a challenging climate as well and believe that working together is the best approach.
