Opportunity for Pharmacies to provide healthy living promotion
This year the focus for Diabetes Week is celebrating everyone living with diabetes and all their supporters.
More people than ever have diabetes and more people than ever are at risk of Type 2 Diabetes. If nothing changes, it is predicted that over 5.5 million people will have diabetes in the UK by 2030.
There are currently 13.6 million people at increased risk of Type 2 Diabetes in the UK – that’s approximately 1,000 per pharmacy. Many of these people may also have undiagnosed hypertension, a perfect opportunity to offer the new service.
Diabetes UK are running their first ever Big Diabetes Week Dog Walk (you don’t have to have a dog to join in).
