CPSC is proud to continue its work in association with the WHCDS. Richard Buxton, Professional Services Development Manager for CPSC completed a scoping project in collaboration with WHCDS during 2016/17 which was funded by the Wessex Cardiovascular Strategic Clinical Network. The scoping project demonstrated the potential benefits for increasing the role of community pharmacy in diabetes care for patients; particular those that are more hard to reach and who may not be as actively engaged with their current healthcare providers as is recommended. The CPDSS project (Community Pharmacy Diabetes Support Service) is now in the process of establishing funding support to enter pilot stage at a variety of sites across West Hampshire and is likely to start in August 2018.
