CPPE: 'NHS Discharge Medicines Service: improving outcomes for patients transferring care'

The eLearning and associated assessment support community pharmacy to deliver the service and pharmacy teams in other sectors to understand their role in the patient's journey.

The NHS Discharge Medicines Service is a new essential service for community pharmacy contractors, commencing on 15 February 2020. As an essential service, all community pharmacy contractors must be able to provide the service.

The CPPE home page has a new section which makes it easier for learners to find the resources they need, which include:

  • NHSEI guidance on the NHS Discharge Medicines regulations
  • NHSEI toolkit for pharmacy staff in community, primary and secondary care
  • CPPE eLearning and eAssessment
  • Declaration of Competence (DoC) framework for the service
