The following briefing has been published by PSNC to aid contractors following feedback from the first few weeks of this new service

CPCS Update: Progress and Early Learnings

PSNC has recently published this briefing offering further support for pharmacy contractors with the NHS Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS).

More than 85% of community pharmacies have already signed up for CPCS which has had a positive start so far, but unsurprisingly a number of new questions are coming up now that the service is up and running.

The briefing is based on some of these questions and on early feedback and learnings about the service from contractors and LPCs. It contains suggestions on how to better manage service provision based on reports from the first few weeks of the service going live.

The feedback from contractors and LPCs is being considered by the cross-sector Urgent Care Delivery and Implementation Group (UCDIG) on an ongoing basis.

The UCDIG was set up by PSNC and NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSE&I) to support rollout of CPCS. It includes representatives from the NHS, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC), pharmacy contractors and the National Pharmacy Association (NPA).

Work to monitor the CPCS and to support contractors and LPCs will continue – please do highlight any questions or concerns to PSNC’s Services Team.
