Changes to how referrals for CPCS are received from GP Surgeries

Written by AlisonFreemantle on Friday 24th March 2023

This only affects Pharmacies NOT using PharmOutcomes to deliver the service.

If you use PharmOutcome to record your consultations there is no change.

From Tuesday 28th  March, community pharmacies that use CPCS solutions from Cegedim Healthcare, Positive Solutions or Sonar Informatics will no longer be able to use PharmOutcomes to access their CPCS referrals.

Referrals from GP surgeries using EMIS Pharmrefer will arrive into your community pharmacies’ NHS shared mailbox account.

If this applies to you, you will need to update your standard operating procedures and ensure your NHS shared mailbox is monitored regularly during the day and any referrals are picked up.

Community pharmacies using PharmOutcomes for their CPCS service will continue to receive referrals as they do now.
