Changes to the AQUACEL® Ag dressing range

ConvaTec have simplified their AQUACEL® Ag dressing range and withdrawn AQUACEL® Ag, AQUACEL® Ag Ribbon and AQUACEL® Ag Extra dressings from Drug Tariff.

All prescriptions should now be for AQUACEL® Ag+ Extra™ dressings. This is to ensure simplicity for the clinician/ prescriber and optimise patient outcomes using the most current and best dressing technology.  

Any prescription for the old range, AQUACEL® Ag dressings, should be returned to the surgery for amending and not be dispensed.

AQUACEL® Ag+ Extra™ was specifically developed to help win the battle against infection. The ionic silver found in dressings is combined with a surfactant and a metal chelating agent which work together to deliver superior performance and progress hard to heal wounds.
