Funded places to train as a Designated Prescribing Practitioner (DPP)
As part of the strategy to support the development of Independent prescribers in community pharmacy, 500 funded places will be available from next month for existing pharmacist IPs to train as Designated Prescribing Practitioners (DPPs).
Regulatory changes in 2019 mean that experienced independent prescribers of any professional can apply for DPP training to support community pharmacists to become independent prescribers.
NHS England is funding the training, which will be run by ProPharmace as a flexible model with 20-30 minute online modules.
